It's playful, groovy, grungy, and all around fun to listen to. I'm digging the cool and casual "Wooo, hooos" and "Yeah yeahs" scattered throughout on the vocal side of things.

Many years and many bands later, Black Electric was formed with the single goal of writing a memorable song.
Growing up next door to Liberty DeVitto, longtime Billy Joel drummer, Mike Vitali became very aware that at the end of the day, music is all about the song. Up until now, many of Mike’s bands have been about the entire band having creative input and everyone sharing in the writing and creative process each step of the way.
Black Electric marks the first time Mike Vitali has set out to create an album and material that is singularly focused on writing and delivering the song and hook as concisely as possible.
Since writing and recording the material this June with Saratoga’s producer / engineer David Tyo, Mike has put together a live band of both established and new up and coming musicians.
Black Electric self titled debut was released August 18, 2019 with the band playing their first live show in Brooklyn, NY one month earlier. Since the first July live show and August Self titled release the band has been focused sharpening their live set in preparation of touring during 2020 while simultaneously working on new material for an early 2020 follow up to their self titled debut.
Black Electric is for fans of ZZ Top, Band of Gypsys, Nirvana and all lovers of hazed out heavy blues rock with a hook.
